I wrote my thesis about globalization of Japanese apparel companies.
Since SPAs emerged in the apparel industry, an endless competition of lowering prices of clothes begun and is still going on...
Unlike SPA fashion, Japanese fashion is highly valued from overseas as "new," "unique," "various," and what's more, people enjoy fashion even on regular days.
The Japanese govt has been trying to spread an idea of "real clothes" that people can wear on a daily basis, and it was surprising to know that the govt has been making a lot of effort to support Japanese firms and designers with Japan Fashion Week Organization.
I hope for the day I see Japanese clothes store all over the world...

日本アパレル企業の海外進出についての卒論を書いた。
私の偏見で、お堅い政府がファッション業界と何かするなんてこと、思ったこともなかった。
しかし、今の日本を救えるのはファッション、アニメ、ドラマなどのソフトパワーであり、
経産省を中心にJFW（Japan Fashion Week Organization）などと協力し、
「日本のファッションを世界へ」をスローガンに掲げ、中小企業の海外進出をサポートしているみたいだ。
日本ファッションはデザイン、繊維、コーディネートの点で海外からも評価されていて、
アジアでは日本ファッション誌の売上も好調。
日本特有の「リアルクローズ（毎日着られるオシャレ服）」という観念と共に、
世界中で日本の服が売られる未来を期待したい。

Long Coats
I bought a black long coat for the coming winter today.
It seems like it will snow in Akita, Japan this weekend...
Speaking of the long coat, 40% of the time I see Olsen Sisters, they wear long coats and long dresses.
It still looks good on them although they are not tall.
They must like the shape of square...
I believe that long coats make your body look slim ;)
今日ネットでChoosy ChoというVIVI的ブランドで黒いロングコートを買った。
形がキレイで、届くのが楽しみ。
なかなか、今年はどこのブランドもフルレングス丈のコートは出していないみたい。
秋田の田舎の大学であのコートを着ると確実に浮いてしまうが、関係ない。
ロングコートで頭に浮かぶのは、オルセン姉妹。
彼女達は背が低いにも関わらず、ロングなモノがお好き。
分かります。ロングコートやドレスの四角さが魅力的だということ。
そして意外にも体型を良く見せてくれる。

G.V.G.V. is a Japanese apparel brand that is categorized in the high-end fashion.
It has collaborated with Uniqlo and is becoming popular these days.
I hope these Japanese brands will get opportunities to go overseas.
I should let you know the latest information, but I really want you to know G.V.G.V.'s iPhone 4 case that was collaborated with "nuan" and sold in 2011. (Nuan is a Japanese online mall shop.)
For those of you who are interested in the watch in the picture above, it was collaborated with Citizen, a Japanese watch company, and it was also sold in 2011...
最近UNIQLOとコラボなどしている日本の高めのブランドのG.V.G.V.。
路面店は今のところなく、商品はZOZOTOWNや高島屋などで購入できる。
一般的にブログでは新しい情報を更新していかなければいけないが、
今回はG.V.G.V.とnuanが2011年に発売した上の写真のiPhone 4のケースを紹介。
このケース、個人的にすごく好き。
身に付けるモノ全てがファッション。
iPhoneケースも、タバコのパッケージも、ちょっと言いすぎかもしれないが、何気なく買うペットボトルのお茶のラベルもファッションの一部。
ちなみに、nuanは日本のブランドを取り扱っているオンラインのショッピングモール。
更にちなみに写真の腕時計はG.V.G.V.とCitizenがコラボしたもの。
これからG.V.G.V.のような日本のブランドが海外進出していくことを期待したい。

ZARA
It was totally shocking for me to know that people do not think ZARA is a good brand in the U.S.
In terms of quality, it may not.
But I think the design is great and I love it!
I need to buy a lot of clothes from ZARA when I go to the U.S. next time :)
It is much cheaper than that of Japan.
アメリカに行く前までZARAって良いブランドだって思ってた。
でも、アメリカではそう思われてないみたい。
あっちのほうが安いし。
でも、ホントにデザインいいと思う。
モードがリアルクローズとして着れる感じがいい。
次アメリカ行く機会があったらZARAへ真っ先に！

What is your style?
I found a great Japanese book few days ago.
It was about what people in their 20's should get rid of to be free when they become older.
One of those was to get rid of clothes that we do not wear much.
In other words, the author is saying that we need to find our own style that fits to us.
Do you know what looks good on you?
I found my best fit style.
一昨日、ある本に出会った。
その中に書かれていた言葉。
”服の選択肢を捨てる”
”自分の定番を見つける”
最近iQONやPolyvoreで創っているコーディネートに偏りがあるなぁと思っていた私に
自信をつけてくれた。
大学に入って毎日私服の中、いろんなジャンルの服に身を包んでみた。
そしてやっと納得した自分のスタイルを見つけた。
私は私のスタイルを持ち続ける。
